Many parents of autistic children feel overwhelmed when they first receive their child’s diagnosis. In countries where there are limited services for autistic children and adults, parents become sources of information for each other.

ADAT Foundation helps parents of autistic children connect to each other in order to advocate for assistance for their children with their local authorities. Where a classroom in a public school has been set up, we ensure that the parents of autistic learners connect with each other inorder to support and compliment the learning their children receive in the school. Parents are also supported to fight stigma within their families and communities.

A big part of the support ADAT provides is training for parents. ADAT Foundation sources for experts from around the globe and puts together training events for parents in their local settings. These kinds of training allow parents to increase their knowledge on autism, empowers them to fight stigma and discard harmful practices.
